The Soccer Legend



The legendary footballer, “Kuas Fidelu”, former Ethiopian national team player and also former ESFNA President, Ato Fesseha WoldeAmanuel was one of Ethiopia’s shining stars on the soccer field.

Fesseha had an illustrious soccer career representing his country ably and with class for a number of years. Beginning with his beloved St. George Football Club, whom he helped win numerous Ethiopian championships, he went on to star with the national team and took part in two African Nations Cup tournaments.

Fesseha's successful soccer career was not limited to Ethiopia. After migrating to the United States in 1969, he became an All American at the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) and also played for the Los Angeles team of the now defunct North American Soccer League (NASL).

Ato Fesseha is still active in the tournament coordinating committee of the Federation.
 

The Humanitarian:

Apart from his remarkable soccer legacy, Ato Fessaha is actively involved with various humanitarian efforts.

Ato Fesseha is currently giving back to his community and has formed a non-profit organization, “AGAR”, to allow kids in Ethiopia a chance to get decent education, soccer training and a feeding center.

He strongly believes that all Ethiopians should come together work for this noble cause. Fesseha's vision to help the impoverished Ethiopian youth coupled with his devotion to help promote the development of soccer in the country, led to the creation of Agar Ethio American Youth Association.

Under Ato Fesseha's leadership, Agar is currently sponsoring 30 boys and girls in a back to school program.

Ato Fesseha now resides in Los Angeles with his wife,two kids and 4 grand kids.
